How it works
A staircase is built for a specific opening and can't be sold without measuring. Here the quiz's job isn't to calculate to the cent but to get to the engineer's visit, collecting the key points along the way: where the staircase goes, what structure, how high it needs to rise, what the treads are covered with.
The structure and material questions include "help me choose" and "I'd like a consultation" options. It's important to keep them: most clients can't tell a stringer from a center beam, and without those options some people will simply close the quiz. For you, that answer signals that a conversation is needed, not a ready-made quote.
The rise height is broken into ranges, with a separate option "an engineer needs to measure on site": that's honest, because for openings with unusual geometry, pricing by range makes no sense. The timeline question separates people who need the staircase when the property is ready from those who are just checking prices. The 3D design with a sketch that the template promises is a strong bonus: it's useful to the client and leads naturally to the measurement.
