How it works
A design project is priced per square foot, so the area is half the calculation. The other half is the scope: a layout proposal is one thing, a full project with renders, material schedules and design supervision is something else entirely. The template asks about both, so the request arrives with a clear scope instead of "how much does it cost to design a three-bedroom apartment?", which has no possible answer.
The real value of a quiz in this niche is the visual style question. In words, clients tend to say "something modern, but cozy", which means nothing. When they choose from images (Provençal, Scandinavian, minimalist, high-tech), the designer sees the reference before the first call. The same works for materials: wood, metal, glass, concrete. Instead of stock photos, use photos of your own finished projects, and the style question doubles as a portfolio.
The questions about remodeling and design supervision are about timelines and money. A remodel means permits and a different level of work; supervision is a separate service billed monthly. When these answers are collected up front, the first meeting starts with the project, not a questionnaire. The template offers a discount for completing the quiz: in design, that bonus fits well, because the decision is not made overnight.
