How it works
Windows don't sell at a single "starting at" price: two openings of the same width cost different amounts if one has a fixed pane and the other three tilt-and-turn sashes. People who see a "starting at" price in an ad still call to ask, and that is the most expensive way to answer a pricing question. The quiz breaks the order into line items: window types and how many of each, and at the end the visitor gets the total for their own configuration.
The second common source of disputes with customers is the work around the window. Removing old frames, trim, interior sills and exterior drip caps can easily turn the "window price" into a different number, and if they only come up during measurement, the customer feels misled. In the template these are separate questions: screens, sills, child safety locks, pet screens, removal, trim finishing. Visitors configure everything themselves and see what the total is made of.
The request arrives already itemized: how many windows and of what type, whether removal is needed, how many sills. The measurer doesn't have to find this out by phone, and your sales rep sees the order size right away: a balcony door unit with trim and a single fixed window need different attention. The exact price is still set by the measurement, and it is more honest to say so in the quiz: the estimate is preliminary and the measurement is free.
