How it works
Engraving is a business of small orders and short deadlines: a plaque for tomorrow, an inscription on a gift, a logo on a batch of corporate swag. The template asks what the shop needs to quote a price: the item material (plaques, drinkware, jewelry, electronics, awards, souvenirs, office supplies), size, what to engrave, quantity, text and deadline.
The deadline ranges from “today” to “no rush,” and that matters more than it seems: rush engraving ties up the machine and costs more, while a “next week” order can be slotted into the queue. The material question also has a technical reason: not everything can be laser engraved, and some plastics and coatings release harmful fumes when heated. What's possible is up to the shop, and it's worth saying so plainly in the result.
In the template, the quantity is a slider, so you can multiply it directly by the price per item. The first-order discount from the template is a good reason to try the service with a small order, and corporate batches often follow.
