How it works
The cost of heating depends on a few things the homeowner actually knows: the floor area, the wall material, the boiler they want, and what they'll install, whether radiators, radiant floor heating, or a mix of both. The template asks exactly that. Area is asked in ranges, not as an exact number: at the estimate stage people usually know it only roughly, and real precision comes from the design anyway.
The wall material (brick, wood, light frame, aerated concrete) isn't a filler question: it determines heat loss and, with it, the boiler output and the number of radiators. The boiler type defines the rest of the system, and it's worth keeping a "haven't decided yet" option: that client needs a consultation, and it's a perfectly valid request. The question about how often the person is willing to load fuel only makes sense for those who chose a solid-fuel boiler, and you set that up with branching.
At the end, the quiz asks for the number of radiators, the area of floor heating, and the home's address. The address does two jobs: you see whether the project is in your service area, and the engineer can check in advance whether the lot has gas. The estimate stays preliminary, though: the exact cost comes from the design after a site visit, and it's best to say so plainly in the result.
