How it works
The key question in scratch repair is how deep the damage goes. If only the clear coat is affected, polishing is often enough; if primer or bare metal shows, the panel needs repainting, which is a different job and a different price. The template asks this in plain language, without jargon: "only the clear coat and paint are damaged" or "I can see primer or metal."
The second important part is the photo. The quiz has a file upload question, and that's the best thing that can happen to a body shop request: from an image the technician assesses the damage better than from any description, and the client doesn't make a wasted trip. The size of the damage and the panel complete the picture.
The question about the desired result, flawless or budget, saves both sides time. A client who's fine with the budget option doesn't need an offer to repaint the whole panel and blend into the neighboring ones. And an honest disclaimer in the result is a must: the final price comes after inspecting the car, because color matching and assessing the paint condition can only be done in person.
