How it works
People buy "English courses" for completely different reasons: for an interview at an international company, to move abroad, to travel, for themselves. These people should get a different program, teacher and pace, but a generic form treats them all the same. The quiz starts with the goal, then narrows down the level and the skill to work on first: speaking, writing or listening.
Separately, the template asks how much time the person is willing to put into studying. It's the most honest question of all: it shows not only the right pace, but real readiness to learn. Someone who picks the minimum option is comparing prices more than getting ready to start, and that person needs a different approach.
There's a known issue with levels: people both overstate and understate them. For a non-native speaker, judging their own English on an A1 to C1 scale is pure guesswork. The self-assessment in the quiz is a reference for the first offer, not a diagnostic result. If your school has a real placement test, link to it from the final screen: that way the quiz becomes the first step, not a substitute for proper assessment.
