Ad platform character limits
Copy that goes over the limit either won’t save in the ad platform or gets cut off with an ellipsis in search results. Put the key message in the first 30–40 characters: that’s all people see on a phone.
Google Ads
Headlines up to 30 characters, descriptions up to 90, and each display path field up to 15. A responsive search ad takes up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions.
Meta Ads
Primary text up to 125 characters, headline up to 40 and description up to 30. These are recommended lengths: anything longer hides behind “See more”.
SEO
A title of about 60 characters and a meta description of about 160. Anything longer gets cut off with an ellipsis in search results.
Short copy isn’t just for ads
Quiz questions, buttons and form labels get read on a phone too. Shorter wording means fewer abandoned forms.
Quiz question
One idea per question, no lead-in. People answer in a second and move on.
Button
A verb and a result: “Get my price”, not “Submit”. Two or three words.
SMS and push notifications
A single emoji drops an SMS to 70 characters. Keep an eye on the counter so you don’t pay for two parts instead of one.
Your traffic is tagged. Now turn it into leads
A LeadForms quiz asks visitors a few questions and collects their contact details along with the answers. UTM parameters are saved with every lead, and quiz progress shows up as events in Google Analytics 4.
UTM tags in every lead
Source, campaign and ad arrive with the contact details in your email, Telegram, Kommo, Bitrix24 or via webhook.
Google Analytics 4 events, no code
Paste your measurement ID into the quiz settings and track progress with events: opened the quiz, started answering, submitted their details. How to connect it.
